Ms. Sara Seerat, Barrister, is an expert in electricity and petroleum laws and represents multiple power generation and oil marketing companies before the High Courts and regulatory authorities including Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority and National Electric Power Regulatory Authority. She is recognized by the Firm’s clients as a dependable litigation lawyer who would accept challenging cases of first impression or of daunting complexity.

Ms. Seerat qualified with an LLB (Hons.) degree from Queen Mary, University of London in 2009. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Hon’ble Society of Lincoln’s Inn in 2010 before joining Orr, Dignam & Co. as an Associate the same year. During her four years at Orr, Dignam & Co. she worked on major transactions in the power and oil & gas sectors, besides structuring various transactions including those relating to banking, fertilizer, cement, telecommunications, and competition.

In July 2014, she joined Awan Raza, where she assisted a partner in arbitration proceedings before the London Court of International Arbitration.

Ms. Seerat has gained considerable experience as an arbitration lawyer. She is also a CIArb certified mediator and undertakes mediations in matters referred by the High Courts and Musaliha International Center for Arbitration and Dispute Resolution (MICADR).

Ms. Seerat was given the role of a Partner in July 2015 and appointed the Managing Partner in 2019. She has been representing clients in various areas including the power sector, oil and gas, financial services, regulatory affairs, competition and property.

She is currently handling litigation for corporate clients before the High Courts in Peshawar, Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi and also conducts trials before the courts in Islamabad.
